We work on every flooring type: glue-down tile, nailed-down hardwood, floating laminate, sheet vinyl, and glue-down vinyl. We arrive with the right gear - chipping hammers, ride-on scrapers, HEPA vacuums, and self-leveling compound - and leave the subfloor ready for the next step.

Moisture testing matters more on a Florida slab
A slow leak, a cracked slab, or even chronic ground moisture can leave a concrete subfloor holding dampness long after the surface looks dry. We test every slab before a new floor goes down, because installing hardwood or laminate over a slab that isn't within moisture spec is the single most common cause of a callback.
Subfloor leveling - the step a lot of installers skip
A subfloor out of level by more than an eighth of an inch over six feet will cause LVP and laminate seams to fail within months, and tile set over an uneven slab can crack. We level every job to the manufacturer's required tolerance with self-leveling underlayment before we call the floor ready.

Older tile and mastic (pre-1990 construction) may require testing and licensed abatement before we can begin, which we coordinate but don't perform in-house.
Floor Demolition & Prep - frequently asked questions
Yes - haul-away and disposal is included in the demo price, and it's handled by our own crew, not a separate hauling company.
We use HEPA-filtered vacuums, plastic sheeting, and ground-source vacuums on our chipping tools. You'll see noticeably less dust in adjacent rooms than a typical demo job.
We check during the free in-home estimate. If your subfloor is within manufacturer tolerance, no leveling is needed; if it's not, we quote the leveling separately so the extra cost is clear up front.
Older vinyl tile and mastic sometimes do. We pause the job, send a sample for testing, and bring in a licensed abatement contractor if it comes back positive, then resume prep once the area is cleared.
