Getting Your Home Ready for Installation Day: A Simple Checklist

The best installs we run are the ones where the homeowner did three simple things ahead of time. Here's the exact checklist we send every client before we show up with tools and product, whether it's a single bedroom or a whole-house job.

1. Clear the Small Stuff

We handle moving couches, beds, and dressers as part of the job, but please clear out breakables, electronics, lamps, and anything on open shelving in the work area beforehand. Closets in the room getting new flooring should be emptied too if they're getting the same material.

2. Plan for Pets and Kids

Saws, nail guns, and strangers in the house are stressful for both. We recommend boarding pets or keeping them in a closed-off room away from the work zone, and the same goes for young kids during active cutting and installation.

3. Confirm Access and Parking

Our crew arrives with a trailer of tools and materials - a clear driveway or curb space near the entrance saves real time on unload and setup, especially in tighter neighborhoods around Clearwater and Belleair.

A cleared, ready space is how we finish whole-house jobs in 1-2 days.

4. Know What's Being Removed

If we're pulling out old tile, vinyl, laminate, or hardwood, ask us ahead of time what that process looks like in your home - dust containment, disposal, and any subfloor repair. Our old-floor removal page walks through what to expect room by room.

5. Think Through the Order of Rooms

On multi-room jobs, we'll usually sequence rooms so you keep a functional path through the house - kitchen and one bathroom last if you need them daily. We'll map this out together during your estimate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to move my own furniture?

No - our crew handles furniture moving as part of the install. Just clear out small, breakable, or valuable items beforehand.

Can I stay home during the install?

Absolutely, most homeowners do. We just ask for a clear path and a quiet work zone, especially with pets or small kids in the house.
